Swami Vivekanand
Many people have asked me to write about Swami Vivekanand.
I was reluctant to do so, as I would again be accused of negativity and being critical.
But to tell the truth, I find nothing in the man, and feel he has only been hyped up by some Westerners, and of course, Bengalis, most of whom lose their critical faculties if one speaks adversely of some of their holy cows like Tagore ( objectively a British agent ), Subhas Chandra Bose ( a Japanese stooge ), Bankim Chandra ( a highly communal writer who hated Muslims, calling them Yavans, and, as can be seen at the end of 'Anand Math', advising Hindus to join hands with the British imperialists and oppressors against the Muslims ).
Vivekanand's speech at the ' World Parliament of Religions ' in Chicago in 1893 is depicted as an outstanding effort, though even after careful reading of it I find nothing in it.
Vivekanand propagated Vedanta, which I find a false philosophy. Elementary commonsense tells us that the objects in the world are different, and not one, Brahman, as Vedanta says. How can a man, a horse, a table, a house, a computer, etc be said to be one ? And if the world is unreal, an illusion or Maya, as Vedanta says, why do we eat food and drink water ? We should ignore hunger and thirst, regarding it as an illusion, maya. On the face of it this is humbug.
And I am very sceptical of religious figures. They are used by imperialists for their divide and rule policy
